About Us

Dr. William Rex Eland

Dr. Rex Eland completed his undergraduate studies at University of Colorado Denver before attending Southern California College of Optometry.  After graduating Cum Laude in 1979, he returned to his home state and practiced in Longmont for over thirty years.  Dr. Eland and his family moved to the Berthoud area in 1995.  He loves the small-town charm of the area and enjoys serving the fine people of Northern Colorado.

Dr. Eland belongs to several professional organizations, including The American Optometric Association and The Colorado Optometric Association.  He specializes in computer vision disorders as well as difficult to fit contact lenses, such as bifocals and astigmatism correction.  Having experienced the miracle of Laser Vision correction himself, Dr. Eland performs pre-op and post-op procedures in conjunction with the professional at the Eye Care Center of Northern Colorado.  He takes seriously his charge to enhance the lives of others by preserving perhaps the greatest gift next to life itself, one's vison.

Dr. Eland and his wife Becky, have four children, Emily, Brad, Justin and Summer, who all graduated from Berthoud High School.  They are the proud grandparents of eight.  He is actively involved in his church and loves teaching all age levels.  In his spare time, Dr. Eland enjoys clogging, cooking and gardening.

Dr. Corey Pratt, O.D

Dr. Pratt completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University before attending Southern California College of Optometry, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2006.  He then completed a residency in primary care, emphasis in contact lens fitting and disease management, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.

A Northern Colorado native, Dr. Pratt was anxious to return after his residency and has been practicing in the area since early 2008.  He was excited to join Berthoud Vision for Life in 2016.  He enjoys meeting and working with people of all ages and finds it rewarding to help his patients achieve their best possible vision.  He has a soft spot for children and spent a good deal of his time helping with childhood vision disorders.  Dr. Pratt belongs to the American Optometric Association as well as the Colorado Optometric Association.

When not in office, Dr. Pratt and his wife Katie, can be found chasing or being chased by their two little girls, Tessa 4 and Coralie 2.  As a family they enjoy hiking, playing the piano and watching cartoons.

Optometric Technicians

Ruth and Cassandra are our wonderful optometric techs.  They are responsible for patient pre-testing and assisting the doctors.  They both possess warmth and are interested in their patients visual concerns and needs.  They also write up exams and send referrals as needed.  They are both experienced in the field and are committed to providing the best patient experience.  Away from the office they are both Mom's and enjoy family time.

Opticians

Becky and Brenda are our dedicated opticians here at Berthoud Vision for Life.  They are your go-to for all your eye ware needs.  They will happily adjust your glasses, also replacing nose pad and repairs.  Always willing to help you pick out a new pair of glasses, they also are tasked with keeping our frame selection on the cutting edge of fashion and functionality.  With her 10+ years of experience in  optical, Becky is educated in edging lenses to maximize patient vision.  She enjoys family time in her spare time, and is a doting grandma.  Brenda has been with us for 5+ years and enjoys exploring Colorado and it's restaurants with her husband.

Front Desk

Gail is responsible for the smooth running of Berthoud Vision for Life.  She creates an office culture designed for excellent patient care and personalized service.  She has extensive experience in customer service and insurance, with over 20 years experience.  She will usually be the first face you see as you walk in the door.  When not in the office Gail, enjoys traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Billing and Admin

Our billing and admin girls wear multiple hats in our office.  Gail, Stephanie and April do claim submissions and anything insurance.  With their extensive experience they know things are ever changing in healthcare and keep up with all the latest insurance updates.  April also handles our offices social media.  She enjoys spending time with her daughter.  While you may not interact with Stephanie, she works hard behind the scenes to order contacts as well as an array of administrative duties including IT.  An avid music fan she enjoys concerts and animals, dogs especially.
